There are some quotes you read and immediately think:
“Yep. That’s me.”
Not because they tell some big story, but because they manage to sum up in just a few words those little moments of adult life we all know: patience running on reduced hours, our social battery crying for help, coffee acting as technical support, and us trying to look like we have absolutely everything under control.
Or almost. 😄
Lately, I’ve been turning some of those ideas into designs for T-shirts, mugs, tote bags, and other everyday items.
I didn’t want overly perfect quotes or messages that sounded like they came straight out of a motivational handbook.
I wanted humor.
A little irony.
And quotes we could actually imagine saying on any random Tuesday.
Some quotes don’t need much explanation
Some designs came from exactly that: small thoughts that, once printed on a T-shirt, mug, or tote bag, say much more than you’d expect.
One of my favorites:
Estupenda desde 1974. (Amazing Since 1974.)
Because getting older can come with a little irony and plenty of style too.
And of course, there are the hormones
It was impossible to create quotes about adult life without letting menopause join the conversation.
After all, when your hormones start making decisions without consulting you, they deserve a collection of their own.
Because we can talk about menopause seriously when it matters and still laugh at some of its more absurd moments.
One doesn’t cancel out the other.
Little quotes for very real days
That’s really what these designs are about.
They’re not trying to explain life.
Much less solve it.
They’re just meant to bring out that little smile of recognition when you read something and think:
“Exactly.”
And if that quote ends up on a T-shirt, mug, or tote bag you use every day, even better.
I’ll keep adding new designs in both Spanish and English, with humor about adult life, coffee, social batteries, our little contradictions, and of course, this wonderful hormonal adventure.
